A Michi no Eki is a government-designated roadside station providing free parking spaces, restrooms and tourist information. Very popular, there is actually more than a thousand Michi no Eki all across Japan.
At Michi no Eki Aso you will find various local products such as fresh vegetables, lunch boxes or souvenirs and be able to sit down and relax in our lounge area.
As a Non-Profitable Organization (NPO) administrated by Aso city, Michi no Eki Aso is also dedicated to promoting and preserving the treasures of Aso by organizing special events or supporting local facilities and communities.
At our information desk you'll be able to find many useful information in various languages. And don't worry if you can't speak Japanese because the members of our staff can speak in Japanese, English, French or Chinese. You can ask us for a restaurant where to eat the local specialties, how to reach one of the beautiful places in Aso, or just any question about the city and its history. We'll do our best to guide you !
